About

As ethical beachcombers, we share common interests. We love to be outside, whether it be on a beach looking for treasures, walking, or simply relaxing. We are nature lovers.

We love the terminology "Sea Glass is reverse gem". Traditional gems (emeralds, diamonds) are made by nature and refined by man. Sea glass is originally made by man (bottles and jars) but refined by nature to become smooth frosty beach found gems. Before the mid 1960’s, everything came in glass bottles or jars or tin cans. Sea glass begins as bottles & glass that get tossed on the shore, broken, and then tumbled smooth by the waves and currents. These diminishing beach gems are becoming harder to find as glass is no longer used as it was in the past. Older colours of sea glass like blues, reds and aqua's are becoming smaller and smaller as they continue to age and break down. There are even ‘multis’ which are small bits of ground glass used to create multi-coloured glass items.

We find gorgeous shards of Sea Pottery which originate from pottery, including earthenware, stoneware and porcelain which breaks into smaller pieces and is smoothed by the acidity and motion of an ocean or lake, the sand or grit polishes the edges like a natural tumbler.
